The Cyprus Digital Nomad Visa program was introduced by a Decision of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Cyprus dated October 15, 2021 as part of the strategy to attract business to Cyprus. This type of residence permit allows foreign nationals who are not EU/EEA passport holders to move to Cyprus, provided that they are able to work or provide services, regardless of location through telecommunication technology (remotely).
The practical meaning of Digital Nomad, is that the person who receives a residence permit accumulates income in Cyprus, will reside and pay taxes in Cyprus. The residence permit is issued for 1 year with the possibility of renewal for 2 years. Family members of the main applicant may reside in Cyprus for the same period as the applicant. Marriage and birth certificates are required to prove the relationship.

The condition for obtaining a 1-year residence permit is to be legally present in Cyprus at the time of application
- Not be an EU/EEA citizenIf you reside outside your country of citizenship, it is important to consider the legality of your actual stay in the country of residence when applying from outside Cyprus.
- Proven income from 3500€ per month for the main Applicant(+700€ per family member, and +525€ per child within the same application) is allowed for official marriage, couple, partnership. Income in currencies other than € is calculated according to the exchange rate of the European Central Bank.
- Confirmed type of employment and incomeHaving an employment contract/sole proprietorship/self-employed status or having your own company registered outside Cyprus.
- Medical certificate of healthOriginal blood test results confirming that the applicant is free from HIV, syphilis, hepatitis B and C, as well as fluorography results.
- Ability to work remotely (no restrictions)The contract must include the ability to work or provide services remotely.
- No criminal record for the last 5 yearsCertificates of no criminal record must be issued at least 3 months prior to the date of application, apostilled and submitted together with a notarized translation.
